Medical Monitoring Project
Improving Treatment for People Living with HIV/AIDS
A user experience research project with the CDC and California Department of Public Health to assess and improve the effectiveness of long-term HIV/AIDS treatment programs in California.
Quick Overview
My role
Our team used electronic surveys (Qualtrics) and systematic observations to assess and address barriers to treatment. Data was analyzed in SAS.
Impact
Solutions included a new emphasis on proactive follow-up and more home visits by local care programs. We also implemented improvements to centralized tracking of treatment regimen adherence to more quickly detect when patients were off course and to assess the effects of program changes.
